Having university/polytechnics admissions in Nigeria can sometimes seem so hard especially for those that did not prepare very well for the UTME. Preparing for UTME is usually hard when it is not the first time a candidate is writing the examination.

To excel in Jamb examination with a high score, a candidate must study on all the subjects extensively and cover the syllabus before the examination period.

For example, a candidate that wrote WAEC or NECO this year is likely to pass the Jamb 2018 examination very well more than someone that wrote SSCE two years ago. Reasons being that the brain will assimilate what he studies more than what someone that wrote it a few years back.

This is because as time goes on, human beings tend to forget about old things that were taught in school due to other things they engage themselves in.

This write-up will disclose to you what you must do to keep your brain ready for Jamb 2019 and plan very well towards making good use of your time and not engaging in kinds of stuff that will derail your mind off academic issues and keep you on probation when it comes to education.

If you didn’t make it in the Jamb 2018 examination, you should do the following to keep your brain alive and always ready for the Jamb 2019 examination.

ACQUIRE COMPUTER SKILLS

Personally, I made this one first on the list as having computer skills is very useful in the society now. Even when writing the JAMB 2019, the computer-based examination will still be in use. I have had complaints from a candidate who was not competent with the computer and had to submit the computer-based examination even before he finished answering the questions. This was because of inadequate knowledge of the computer and how to operate it.

CREATE TIME TO READ THE SUBJECTS YOU WILL BE WRITING DURING THE JAMB 2019.

As an aspiring university student, you have to be on the safe side by reading always so that you do not skip any questions when writing Jamb 2019. Reading always and having knowledge gives a student the boldness to get to the examination hall with confidence anytime.

PRACTICE FOR JAMB 2019 WITH PAST QUESTIONS.

Reading encompasses so many things, it involves reading, reciting, skimming, scanning, and reviewing.

This is often followed by checking past questions and answers so as to equip your brain for the examination that is coming up.

Many undergraduates will prove to you that without you reading extensively you will not be able to cover the syllabus and this may be a barrier when writing the examination.

HAVE A GOAL AND READ WITH OBJECTIVES OF COVERING THE SYLLABUS

When reading for any reason, people have a target and try to meet that target. So as someone awaiting JAMB UTME 2019, you should target a particular score which beats down the cutoff mark for your selected course of study so you can bypass the competition from other candidates that will apply for the same course like you. this gives you a large gap to stand out among those that their scores are not high enough.

KNOW YOURSELF

Reading should be done in a comfortable place where nothing will hinder you from understanding what you read. If reading at night is better for you than reading during the daytime, just stick to it to achieve your dreams.

CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS WISELY

Peers have a greater influence on each other, so you must certainly choose good friends that can influence you to always read.

Remember, bad company corrupts good manners.
